Oh, Internet. Sometimes I photograph weddings and the giddiness is just unmeasurable. Sure, some good yummy light causes my giddiness meter to rise but sometimes, everything about the whole day does. I find myself SUPER inspired and just loving the fact that I get to do this thing called wedding photography. Don’t get me wrong I love weddings and I love photographing all of them, but some of them just make me smile a little bigger. This one was one of those. It may have been because it was at a barn…which I adore. It may have been because the light was super great. It may have been because it rained and my couple were still troopers. It may have been because there were pretty lights and lawn games…which are both things I’d have at my own wedding. It may have been that this couple allowed me to shoot portraits for about an hour and a half…yeah…awesomeness. However, it was most likely because this couple is simply the greatest. Yep, they looked at me, said ‘We trust you,’ and let me do my thing. My thing definitely included walking out in the middle of a field to take portraits only to have the skies open up and liquid sunshine drench the earth. This was PRE-WEDDING mind you! Did they panic and say ‘your thing’ was the wrong thing? Nope. They ran under a tree with me and waited it out…still saying, ‘we trust you.’ What?!?! I was in shock. Ten minutes later the skies cleared and they sat down in the grass to take more pictures. Sat down…in the grass! Granted there was a blanket underneath but still! Again, I was floored. This was everything a photographer hopes for…clients that trust them. I absolutely adore their portraits and I have them to thank for it! These two…they really are just awesome.

Brooklyn and Chris met 12 years ago in high school English class. I know, their story is already off to a great start. She remembers that he was kind of shy but that she thought he was super cute. Then one day in the library he stole her shoe…flirting with her off course. He remembers being intrigued by her warm personality. Sparks were starting to fly but they didn’t start dating until their senior year. When Chris headed to the Naval Academy and Brooklyn headed to Waco for school, they were faced with a decision. Do they stay together across thousands of miles? Well, knowing that they had something special,  love of course won out and these two managed 8.5 years of dating, most of it long distance. Love does conquer all and these two are now finally able to be together forever. Their wedding day was one of great celebration as family and friends gathered together at Howell Family Farms to watch as these two high school sweethearts became husband and wife. It was a beautiful day and I was so privileged to be there.

Brooklyn and Chris, I mean it when I say that I think you all are just the best! Your wedding was so inspiring to me and I loved being there with you during all of it…especially under that tree!!! I can’t wait to see where your marriage takes you and I hope it’s the greatest adventure of your lives. So excited that the long distance is entirely over!
