It’s 10 pm and I am working like crazy so that I can leave early in the am for a place that I love dearly. A place that in many ways is home to me and if you follow the blog at all, you know what I’m talking about. I’m headed to Branson, MO for a few days this week to do some portrait sessions for families up that way. Yes…I said Branson. The conservative Las Vegas for old people. If you haven’t been there…you need to add it to your bucket list. For. Realz.
So, today’s Take Me Back post is going to be super short and to the point which is definitely uncommon on this here bloggity. At last weekend’s wedding I noticed something about myself and the way I shoot weddings that may be a little different from your average wedding photog. You see, I LOVE to dance. Like I LOOOOOVE it. I want to buy it a Valentine’s day card. Ok, maybe not but I really enjoy me some dancing. My latest hobby is two stepping so don’t even get me started on that. Well, pretty much every weekend I find myself spending my Saturday evening at a dance party. Aka, the reception. And well, my philosophy is that if I am going to be at a dance party every weekend then I might as well DANCE!! Right? So, it’s a staple that every wedding at some point I take my dancing feet onto the dance floor and get down with my bad self…which isn’t really very bad. It is more uncommon to see me standing still during the reception than it is to see me in the middle taking a few shots and then dancing with camera in tow.
Last Saturday’s wedding was concluded with an epic dance party, complete with costumes and an unbelievable band so I of course had a blast. My assistant took this image below and it made me want to write a TMBT post about this since it’s somewhat uncommon to see. Just be forewarned that if you hire me in the future to shoot your wedding, you are hiring a dancing photographer!
