I grew up in a house of all women except for my dad… and my dog but he hardly counts. There was LOTS of giggling, Barbies and hair bows. As my dad said, he would go to the store and just wish he could go down the ‘blue aisle’ but alas, he always had to find himself on the ‘pink aisle.’ As we were growing up, he would joke how he wanted four sons and yet God had given him four daughters. His constant statement, though, was that each of us had to have four grandsons and as many girls as it took to get there, giving him 16 grandsons. We would laugh about that and say yeah right. Well, then a year ago my twin sister gave birth to my adorable nephew…breaking the streak of women. Then, two months later, my older sister gave birth to my other wonderful nephew. TWO BOYS?!?! Craziness. Well, this past weekend, my little sister and her husband had their gender reveal party for their child who is due in late August. Since it was Easter, a friend of theirs took the gender reveal sonogram and filled several Easter eggs with blue and pink colored Peeps. Then we hid them around the house and everyone got to find and open one egg. The color with the largest number revealed the gender of the baby. Well, we reached the final egg and my sister and brother-in-law opened it up to find…BLUE!!! I am going to have another nephew!! I can’t even believe it…we are on such a boy streak! I still don’t quite know how to be an awesome aunt to little boys but you can bet that I’m going to be figuring it out! Aunt Mary is loving every minute.
