TMB Tuesday | A Special Honor | The Knot Best of Weddings 2014

Oh, what a journey. Sometimes I don’t even know how I got here. I recently posted about the day I decided to finally take on my dream of being a photographer…and it happened in a Subway sandwich shop somewhere between Branson, MO and Oklahoma City, OK. So random. Back then it was such a foreign idea and a giant leap of faith. I had no idea if I would succeed or fail miserably, but there was one thing I did know. I knew that I wanted to try. For the last few years, I’ve been giving this ‘thing’ all that I’ve got and by the grace of God (really only by the grace of God), He has blessed it in more ways than I could ever have imagined. I’ve been able to work with wonderful clients, make a LOT of memories, learn from my mistakes, grow as an individual, and have a lot of fun doing it. When The Knot contacted me last fall to let me know that I had been selected as one of the winners for ‘The Knot Best of Weddings 2014,” I was honestly in a little bit of shock. The Knot is one of the most used wedding planning tools available to brides today. In DFW 8 out of 10 brides are on The Knot and it is incredibly useful. One of the ways it helps my business, is by recommending local photographers, like me, to bride’s in my region. On top of that, they recommend a select number as ‘The Best Of” for the year so that brides can get a feel for the overall satisfaction from previous clients as well as overall quality. I owe so much of this honor to all of my amazing past Mary Fields’ brides who were so gracious in recommending me and rating me well. While these kinds of honors don’t define me as a photographer and my first goal is to shoot for the client, not my own recognition, this is still such an encouraging day for Mary Fields Photography. I’m so grateful to be doing what I love and for a 2013 wedding season that blessed my socks off! As a I am gearing up for my 2014 season to kick in fully, I am working hard to maintain and improve on that ‘Best Of 2014’ label.

So, in the name of The Knot, wonderful MFP clients, a sweet 2013 wedding season and looking to 2014,

I Say, Take Me Back!
