Where to even begin…

Oh, how I adore this couple and their wedding day! Words can’t express how blessed I was to be a part of such a wonderful celebration of two people joining as one. My heart is full just looking through these pictures and I am reminded just how special my job can be!

Sara and I met pretty quickly after I moved to Dallas because I joined her small group at church and so she began pouring in to my life, for which I am so grateful. We would meet up for coffee every so often or go on walks and talk about life and all of its ups and downs. Now and then, as it sometimes does for singles, the conversation would turn to dating and relationships, with all of its questions and hopes. Then one day, Stephen came in to the picture. I remember talking to her about him and thought to myself, ‘this one seems different.’ Every time Sara and I would talk about him, she seemed so peaceful and assured which caught my attention. Then one night after church, I met Stephen and I realized why. Not only did we hit it off immediately talking about our mutual love for photography, but it was also apparent that he was genuine, intentional and truly caring, not to mention super tall and funny! These two together are just plain wonderful and the kind of couple that you just love being around.

Having photographed their awesome proposal (see it here), I was so thrilled when they asked me to shoot their wedding and even more thrilled when I learned that they had decided to have it in Sara’s backyard. Sara had lived for several years in this house with some of her best friends and there had been so many memories made inside and outside its walls. The porch was especially memorable for them as it’s where they had their first date, just hanging out and laughing. With the help of friends and family, they pulled together a fun DIY backyard wedding and it was a BLAST! I loved the uniqueness of a backyard wedding and was in heaven as a photographer. Such a wonderful day celebrating two people who I adore!

Sara and Stephen, you two are a dynamic duo and I’m so thankful to call you friends. Thank you for letting me be part of this super fun celebration and I can’t wait to continue walking alongside you in your journey together! Here’s to many years of laughter and love as Mr. and Mrs.!

Ok, so for all of you DIY brides out there…this is awesome. They flipped the backyard super quick after the ceremony and made it in to this gem. Lovely. 

They had a local food truck cater and boy was it delicious!!!!!
