Joy + Jordan | A Rustic Ranch Wedding | Thistle Springs Ranch

What a love story. Seriously, one of my favorites. Joy and Jordan were in different places, different cities and knew nothing of each other. Jordan’s aunt however, knew both of them and was anxious for them to meet. She claimed it was not a set up per say, but that she thought they would make great friends because of their common interests. Jordan decided to email Joy and introduce himself. The emails eventually tapered off though as Joy was leaving to spend some time in Uganda and Jordan was busy with life as well. A few months later, Joy’s sister was living in the same town as Jordan and sent her kids to the camp he was working at. Her sister was a fan immediately! Seven months after their emails were sent, they both ‘ironically’ got jobs teaching at the same school. Of course, in my opinion, God’s plan doesn’t really leave room for the ‘ironic’ but more for the divinely orchestrated. They officially met in person at an all faculty meeting and well… the rest is history. I suppose they owe it all to his aunt!

These two make an unbelievable match. Their undeniable love for each other is only overshadowed by their undeniable love for their Savior, Jesus Christ. She loves that he is loyal, strong and gracious in loving her just as she is. As she says, ‘He brings peace to my heart that casts out any fear and embraces me with love and joy. My heart is always full when I’m with him!”  He loves that she is tender, gracious, forgiving and loving. As he says, “In her presence, I feel loved and respected which gives me the courage to be who the Lord calls me to be.” Could there be better words spoken of your spouse?! I don’t think so.

Joy and Jordan, it was a privilege to document such a special day in both of your lives. I am looking forward to seeing how your path as Mr. and Mrs. unfolds and I am confident, no matter where it takes you, that your unified love for your Savior will lead you and bless you.

Enjoy some of my favorites from their rustic ranch wedding!

Happy Friday!

Joy’s father passed away not long before she met Jordan. A true cowboy, they incorporated a lot of him in to the day, including some of his cowboy hats. It was such a special way to have him honored.  Exchanging gifts. Her father. Joy’s mother had the sweetest reaction as her youngest and last child to get married was given away.  ‘This was totally unplanned but the hymn book was turned to “Our God Has Made Us One.” Perfect.  Married!!! And very happy about it! Alright…it’s just true. Groomsmen just have more fun. No offense to all the ladies out there but let’s be real.  Joy, you made a STUNNING bride. Your name fits you so very well! The reception was held at Thistle Springs Ranch in Cleburne, TX. It was absolutely a wonderful location!!! Any newly engaged Dallas/Ft. Worth brides need to check it out!

Dancing with her brother and her dad’s best friend. So special.  I was skeptical of the hula hoops at first but Ive got to say, they got the party started and made for some fun shots! So fitting that the Faculty parking tag is in the picture!
