I travel a lot for my job, which I LOVE because it allows me to see places I wouldn’t normally see and to keep up with people that would be harder to keep up with otherwise. I get to go fun places and see fun things. However, very rarely do I get to travel just for the sake of traveling. My travels for work usually allow me to take mini vacations (like my trip to Costa Rica which is hitting the blog soon!), but vacationing just for vacation is harder to make happen. So, as you read this, I am on a BEACH VACAY with my family! This exact weekend last year, I did the same thing. I vacationed and I rested. It was totally unintentional that it be the same week but in many ways it is so fitting. Fitting because it’s right in the middle of my crazy wedding season and though it may seem inopportune, it is exactly what I need. A good solid break from the craziness that is always my spring and summer. What I do is what I love, but even your passions can be tiring and well…breaks are good.
Though I wrote this ahead of time so as to protect my ‘resting’, I sure hope that at this point in time, I am sitting with a book in my hand, shades on my face and smile on my lips as I REST!
