Take Me Back Tuesday | In Home Creative | You Pin It, They Build It

What I love about Take Me Back posts is that the sky is the limit. I sure do LOVE my job and taking pictures of wonderful couples/people. However, I also love the fact that photography can be about documenting life itself. I’m thankful that this blog allows me to do all of the above. On that note, today’s Take Me Back post is a little different and special. I’m giving you a little insight in to daily ‘home’ life with me as well as a feature of a local business that you should definitely know about!

A few months ago, I moved in to a home with two wonderful ladies (who have graced the blog several times). We immediately began ‘Pinteresting’ our lives away and dreaming about how we wanted to decorate the house. One thing I particularly loved was barn wood. L.O.V.E. it. I began pinning all kinds of ideas on my ‘Home Decor’ board but would walk away more depressed than excited because you see…I had NO idea how I was going to bring my boards in to reality. Then I was introduced to In Home|Creative. They are a Dallas-based custom carpentry business whose unofficial tag line is ‘If you Pin-it, we can build it.’ Um hello?!!?!?! The answer to my prayers. I began working with them to design some pieces I wanted and squealed with delight when they were finished. No, really…I squealed.

Here are two pieces they did for me, a coffee table and a barn wood accent piece. The coffee table is made out of palette wood and welded with a modern iron base. The accent piece is inspired from a headboard I saw on Pinterest. It’s made from old farm barn wood and is painted with one of my favorite phrases from the Bible. I recently had them design and build a custom shelf for my office that I will show soon! It’s fabulous and makes my life as a photographer SO much easier! If you are looking for any custom carpentry, big or small, I suggest checking out In Home|Creative. Their work is superb, their design is perfectly customized and their customer service is excellent. Check them out/contact them HERE. Because their work is so great and has such a market with my followers, I asked if I could feature them today! Below are some pics of my recent purchases.

So, in the name of making your Pinterest boards come to life,

I say, Take Me Back!

(If you were looking for a nephew Take Me Back post, check back next week. I’m doing his newborn session today so there will be a LOT to see!)
