I wish I could put it into words but there just may not be many words to sum up how wonderful this couple is and how beautiful their wedding day was. There is just so much more to express than those words can encompass. Sure, the atmosphere was everything that I love. Outdoors. DIY. Vintage. Colorful. Unique. Just a touch of rustic. My favorite kind of wedding to photograph.
However, it wasn’t those components that made it beautiful. It was the way this couple approached their wedding day. With their eyes set on marriage and how it is simply a shadow of the ultimate wedding celebration with Christ. Every aspect was singularly directed to that and oh how it made their day that much more lovely. The people who were in attendance were overjoyed to celebrate with this couple and it showed in the overall atmosphere of the day. It was clear that Tyler and Beth are people who live their lives focused on loving others and who are excited about loving them together.
They met at a conference in Colorado this past January and were immediately taken to each other. The conference was in an old castle in the heart of Colorado and it was the perfect backdrop for their love story to begin. It didn’t take long for them to see that they had the most important thing in common. A love for people and a heart for them to know the Lord. With him living in New Mexico and her in Kansas, their relationship began with miles in between but the distance didn’t matter. In just a few short months, they both knew they wanted to promise forever. In May, she was visiting her family in Oklahoma for her niece’s 2nd birthday party when he surprised her and showed up to take her to dinner which just happened to be in a little castle. It had begun in a castle not too long before and he wanted it to continue in a castle when he would ask her such an important question. It was there that he expressed that though their lives had been separate to that point, he was hoping that she would agree to be ‘together wherever.’ No matter where God would take them…he wanted her by his side. She said yes without hesitation so excited to marry the love of her life. What is so beautiful to me is that marriage not only allows for ‘together wherever’ but it is also ‘better…together…wherever.’ These two are better together and their wedding day was the start of a beautiful story of God at work.
Beth and Tyler, your wedding was such an inspiring day for me. It was a day that was so easily celebrated by myself and others because of the way you focused it on Christ and with the desire to love one another. As I stood watching you sing songs of praise during your ceremony, I had to take a minute…pull my camera from my eye and simply sing praises with you. For it was a good thing and God had done a great work. I cannot wait to see what God does through your lives and how you love people better as husband and wife. Thanks for letting me be there to capture the start of such a beautiful union!!!
