Allison’s Bridals | Dallas Arborteum

Allison and I worked together in the summer during college at my most favorite place in the world, Kanakuk Kamps. I remember meeting her and thinking, she has the warmest most bubbly personality. We hadn’t connected in years when out of the blue she contacted me about doing a bridal session for her. She prefaced it with, “You might think I’m crazy but, I’m actually already married.” I of course DID NOT think she was crazy! She had gotten married less than two years ago but never had bridal portraits done. After the wedding, she and her mom started talking about how great it would have been to have some formal portraits of Allison in her dress and that they were sad they hadn’t done it before the wedding. That’s where I came in. I was SO excited about doing this for Allison because I love the idea of doing post-wedding bridal portraits AND I’d get to reconnect with an old friend.

After the session, we all agreed that this post-wedding bridal portrait option was a great idea. I began thinking that I needed to start encouraging brides to do this if they never had bridal portraits done. Here are a few of my reasons:

1. You aren’t operating on a budget like you were with your wedding.

2. It’s low stress because it’s post-wedding.

3. It can be a fun experience with your mom/sisters/friends.

4. You get to put your dress on again!!!!!

While getting bridals done before the wedding is also a great option (trial run for hair and make-up, allows you to have portraits at the reception etc.), if you are on a budget then this might be a great idea for you! Save up for it after the wedding and get a chance to put that beautiful gown back on one more time!

Enjoy some of my favorites of Allison’s session. Allison, you are way too beautiful but I’m not complaining. It made my job easy! Thanks for letting me be part of such a fun experience!

Happy Wednesday!

First of all, I totally agree with warmest most bubbly personality. Second of all, these pictures are stunning. I’m excited to keep following along on the blog. (Third of all, I’m glad that both myself and the person who commented before me feel the need to make lists.) Thanks for sharing!!
