Take Me Back Tuesday | What a Year | The Best 2013

Oh, what a year. As I sit here on this New Year’s Eve, I am at a loss for words. If you follow the blog much, you know that I am a pretty ‘wordy’ person but today, well today the words escape me. How to sum up a year that was so beyond my wildest imagination and so rich beyond measure? It is difficult, I can tell you that. This time last year, I was laying out goals for 2013 and thinking to myself, ‘I sure hope this doesn’t all fall apart.’ Today, as I am looking forward to 2014 and looking back on this incredible year, I am thinking to myself, ‘How did this happen?’ Mary Fields Photography had a year for the record books, photographing 25 weddings and countless portrait sessions. Not to mention, having the undeserved privilege of working with people who make life unbelievably sweet and my job ridiculously enjoyable. There were some days this year when I felt worn out…having photographed two weddings in one weekend and my feet screaming out in rebellion. However, when it is all said and done, I am still spoiled to be doing what I love, with people I enjoy, celebrating this beautiful thing called love and laughing all along the way.

To all of my 2013 clients, I cannot say thank you enough. Thank you for believing in me and trusting me to tell your story. Thank you for letting me in to some of the sweetest moments of your life and going along with all of my crazy antics. Thank you for letting me get giddy and ridiculous when it comes to ‘yummy light’ and the ‘money shot.’ Thank you for laughing with me, crying with me and making memories I shall cherish forever. Thank you for making my dream a reality. Thank you for letting Mary Fields’ tell your story through her lens.
