Sometimes Peter Pan and I speak the same language. Sometimes I wish I had some fairy dust, some happy thoughts and that I could just set my sights on the 2nd star to the right… heading straight on til morning. You know, securing my youth forever. Sometimes.
Lately I have been struck with the fact that time is fleeting. Life is a blink really. A breath. It passes by so quickly…too quickly. Being the sentimental soul that I am, I have a very hard time with this. This being a little thing we call time. Oh, how funny time is. We can’t even begin to wrap our minds around it and we will never be above it. The more I want to control time and make it subject to me, the more I realize that I was never meant to. Though all of my ‘Take Me Back’ posts and my photos help me to celebrate the past, I cannot hold on to it. No, the more life I live, the more I find myself discovering that the key is to look ahead. To move forward…not backward. To celebrate the past but not to try to turn back the clock. God’s plan is perfect…in HIS timing. These last few weeks have left me wrestling with joys of the past in light of present struggles. Today, though, I resolve not to settle for what has been but to look with great expectation to what might be.
