Take Me Back Tuesday | So Thankful | Powell Family Portraits

Family. One of the most important things in my life and for sure one of God’s sweetest gifts to me. My family is kind of ridiculous too in that we group text each other every single day. Yeah…it may be a little much but the good news is…we don’t care. My sisters and I especially keep in pretty much constant communication about the must absurdly random things. It’s mostly a bunch of silliness but the beauty is that in the mix of the silliness we also share a lot of life, both sorrows and joys. This year has been especially sweet for my family because for the first time in over 5 years, we are all within 4 hours of driving distance. I cannot tell you how special that is! We got to spend Thanksgiving together and the best part of it was that it really wasn’t that big of a deal. I say that in complete seriousness. As we gathered, I said, ‘Why does this feel so much less of a big deal this year?’ I quickly realized that it felt that way because we actually have all been together a lot and for that I am so very thankful. To add to the already wonderful aspect of family this year, I was especially excited this past Thanksgiving because I had the most wonderful man by my side. For years we have asked, ‘who is going to complete the circle of spouses?’ and this year, with my fiancé at the Thanksgiving table with me, that question was answered. Seeing these family photos that we took and having him right next to me makes me smile very big. Even though it’s been a while since we celebrated Thanksgiving, the things that made me oh so thankful haven’t changed. Not one bit.

So, in the name of thankfulness, family and my wonderful fiancé,

Now of course since we were all together and I had an addition to the fam, we had to take some updated family portraits. Not to mention we had another little addition with my nephew Gideon and the other two boys are growing like crazy. So, here is a snapshot of our family session!!!!

Had to post this one on the left because it’s a good indicator of how we take pictures. He does something silly and I lose it. 

Yes, I realize this is ridiculous, but I still love it.
