Take Me Back Tuesday | Happy One Year, Oan

One year ago today I was going about my routine fairly normally when I got the call. My oldest sister was in labor and headed to the hospital. Now, if you follow the blog much, you might pick up on the fact that my sisters and I are super close. We laugh…a LOT. We text pretty constantly and we like to be together. So, of course if I can be there for my sister’s delivery of her first child…then I’m going to do whatever it takes to get there. I quickly went to work getting myself ready to leave and headed out. However, my car was in the shop so I had to make a swap and drive one of my parents. I’m happily on the road ready to meet my new nephew when the next thing I know I find myself in a cop car on the side of the highway. A bit of a detour you might say. Indeed, it’s a crazy story and if you want to read it, check it out here.

Despite my interlude with the law, I did get to hold my sweet little nephew and he was wonderful. Over the last year I have gotten to hold him a lot more and to watch as his personality develops. I know that I am pretty heavily biased, but this child is simply the greatest. He is smart, he is adorable and he makes you work for a smile but when he gives it… it just might be the greatest thing ever. It lights up his whole face and no matter how my day has gone, I kind of feel like everything will be ok. Here is wishing this sweet little nephew of mine a wonderful 1st birthday! You won’t have any clue what today is but the rest of us are thankful for your precious little life!

So, in the name of cop cars, bright smiles, first birthdays and precious nephews,
