Take Me Back Tuesday | Celebrating My Growing Family

I never get sick. Never. Ok, so I rarely get sick. Apparently when you make statements like, ‘I NEVER get sick,’ there is some sort of sickness fairy waiting to sprinkle her ‘cold/flu/sinus dust’ on you so that you remember to be humble. Oh, that dust.

Well, folks, I am indeed sick. Don’t worry, I’m pretty sure that should I be contagious, our cyberspace friendship doesn’t make us that close. You should be fine. On that note, please excuse this late Take Me Back post. My body hates me and is in rebellion!

On a much happier note, this TMB post is dedicated to my precious family and one of my favorite seasons…THANKSGIVING! I think I’m partial to it because it gets overlooked and over-run by the Christmas holiday. I, however, like to route for the underdog. This particular Thanksgiving was so different from so many that I remember because the dynamics of our family are changing so dramatically. We were missing members due to new families formed through recent marriages but we had also gained some fun members through recent marriages. In my family, that means more men which means a lot more fun. Perhaps one of the greatest additions to our Thanksgiving this year was that my sister, Beth, brought with her a new member who has not yet been introduced! Yes, a baby on the way! We are SO very excited! And let’s be real, I will definitely be the coolest aunt because I will look like Mom. Duh. (A post on their baby announcement pics coming soon!)

As we sat around the table and shared what we were thankful for, I was amazed. As we laughed and told stories all weekend, I was amazed. And then, as if that was not enough, Sunday morning we joined together at church and praised our God…in likeness of heart…together. What a rich thing to be able to say of your family. Together, we worship our God in fullness. Together, we love each other unconditionally. Together, we run this race.

I am so thankful for a family that will laugh with me, cry with me and most of all, worship with me. As we transition out of the Thanksgiving season, I don’t want to forget something so very important.

To give thanks for my God is good. So very good.

So, in the name of family, worship and thankfulness,

I say, Take Me Back!

(Far from perfect but still warms my heart. Self-timers aren’t the best but I love them nonetheless.)

I’m only including this picture to illustrate and prove the abuse I receive in my family. My brother-in-law decided it would be ‘funny’ to push me over right as the shutter went off. So glad I at least made it 22 years without a brother. Now I have three…Oh brother. Pun totally intended.

Last one that I HAD to include!!!! A very important day in their family’s history. My brother-in-law’s first OU football game AND my little niece/nephew’s first!!!!!! I’m sure he/she was cheering loudly from the womb. Sure of it.
