Raelyn + Andrew | An Anniversary Shoot | Dallas, TX

I first met Raelyn on a runaway carriage ride. Pulled by two giant and very frightened Clydesdales. In Florida. During a tropical storm. At a wedding that I was shooting. No joke.

None of that is exaggerated except that I might have met her the night before at the rehearsal dinner. So, in an effort to be accurate and honest, let’s just say that our friendship was sealed on that runaway carriage ride. Raelyn and her husband Andrew were involved in a wedding I shot last April and so even though we all actually lived in Dallas, our friendship began there…in a very wet and frightened manner. Raelyn is a videographer and was helping out with filming the wedding. The media team and the bride and groom had all piled into the back of the horse-drawn carriage to take portraits/video post-ceremony. Already drenched by the tropical storm that had just blown through during the outdoor ‘farm’ ceremony, we were laughing and chatting away about the unique events of the day thus far. In perfect accordance with the somewhat chaos of the day, the Clydesdale horses suddenly got spooked by a lone cow and took off running. Tumbling around in the back of the TINY carriage, we all dropped to the floor to avoid low-hanging trees and held on for dear life. As soon as the horses finally calmed down, then set in the laugher. Uncontrollable laughter. It was a fun moment. In fact, it is to this day one of my favorite memories of a Mary Fields’ wedding.

After having gone through all of that together, I was so excited when Andrew asked me to do an anniversary shoot as a gift to Raelyn. These two are SUCH a blast and I had so much fun doing their session. Not only did we get to celebrate their 3 years of marriage, but we also got to do some fun headshots and styled shots for their exciting career paths. Raelyn owns and operates the video production company, That’s So Money and Andrew is finishing up his seminary degree here in Dallas. In the spring, they will be moving to Fayetteville, AR to plant a church called, The Hill Church. They are sad to live the big city of Dallas but oh so excitedly heading to the hills of the Ozarks to see what God has in store for them.

Raleyn and Andrew, thank you so much for letting me be part of documenting your selfless love and helping you as you both move forward in the career/ministry paths that the Lord has laid out. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds and I had a blast with you both! From the soggy farm lands/crazy runaway carriage rides of Florida, to the busy streets of Dallas it’s been fun to develop a friendship and I hope it will only continue as you head on toward the hills of Arkansas!

Happy Thursday!
