Marissa + Mark | A Dallas Petroleum Club Wedding

There are SO many reasons why I love my job. SO many. However, recently I have been realizing that perhaps my top reason is because of the relationships I build. To me, life without sincere relationships is a life without. People bring so much joy to our lives and I love the fact that my job allows me to meet so many. I first met with Marissa, Mark and Marissa’s mom early this year to discuss the potential of me doing their wedding. We met up at Starbucks on a chilly winter day and sat around a big round table as I heard their story and their vision for their special day. I liked all of them instantly as they were sweet, sincere and caring people. Shortly after, they booked me for their September wedding and I was thrilled. A few weeks later, Marissa and Mark met me around White Rock Lake for their engagement session, the grass having just turned a lovely shade of green, and we had a blast just documenting their love story. Throughout the rest of the year, I would have contact here and there with these two and their families, and each time I walked away feeling encouraged. It is so evident that they, along with their families, love people well and share with me in valuing relationships. Their wedding day was a joy for me to be a part of because I truly felt a part of it. Not that I was just hired to do a job, but that I was there celebrating with them and those closest to them. That, my friends, is why I love what I do. And that is why I also spent a good portion of the day tearing up behind my camera!!

Marissa and Mark, thanks for believing in me and my work to the point of trusting me with your special day. I have so loved this journey with you and only hope to continue to witness your journey together! Wishing you both the greatest joys of a happy marriage!

Enjoy some of my favs from their special day!

Happy Monday!

I may or may not have accidentally stood in an ant hill to get this shot…my poor feet.

Marissa’s grandmother was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Marissa’s wedding ring belonged to her which is SUCH a sweet legacy.

Daddy/daughter first look. One of the ‘tearing up behind my camera’ moments. For all of you brides out there, this is such a great idea!

Money shot.

Marissa’s family surprised her by bringing the family dog to share in the special day. She loves this dog and it made for such a special moment!

Oh, cathedral length veils…you are my favorite.

Girl, this is too much.

Love this shot.

A definite favorite.

Ok…these next two shots are epic. A levitating man…
