Laura + Brennan | Northwood Country Club | Dallas, TX
It was a warm Friday night, made warm partly because of the Texas October temps and partly because of the words that were being shared over this precious couple. Person after person stood up and shared how Laura and Brennan had impacted their lives. Had there been more time, I’m sure we could have gone all night. “They love people so well…they welcome everyone and make sure people are cared for…they make time for others…they aren’t afraid to ask the hard questions…they always direct attention to others and not to themselves…their love for one another and others stems from their first love for Christ.” These were some of the sentiments that were shared at the rehearsal dinner and truer words were never spoken. These two are simply some of the dearest, most thoughtful, selfless and caring people I know. I was so privileged to shoot their wedding and even more privileged to know them.
Laura and Brennan’s love story began long before their paths actually crossed…a testimony to the perfect plan God has for each one of us. They both grew up going to Kanakuk Kamps but never met. They did have a mutual friend though, who grew up with Laura and went to camp with Brennan. Knowing both of them in high school, he had mentioned to both that he thought they should meet and get married because they were perfect for one another. They both laughed it off not thinking anything of it but when they both decided to go to Baylor University, the thought was somewhere in the back of their minds. They met freshman year and it wasn’t long before they saw what their friend had been saying. They saw in each other something that they admired, respected and could cherish for the rest of their lives. They began dating spring of their freshman year and then, four and a half years later, their friend’s crazy prediction came true. Brennan asked her to be his bride and Laura gladly agreed. Before friends and family these two vowed their lives to one another and it was more beautiful than words can express. It is so wonderful to see a couple whose love for each other is fueled first and foremost by their passion for Jesus Christ. Knowing these two, while I don’t know what is ahead, I can only imagine that God will do great things through their marriage.
Laura and Brennan, photographing your wedding wasn’t work…it was a blessing. You two remind me how beautiful marriage is and how lucky I am to be a part of it. Thanks for letting me tell your sweet love story and thank you for being an example of what it looks like to love well. I can’t wait to see how your love story continues to unfold!
Enjoy some of my favs from their wedding! Warning, not only was it a beautiful wedding but it was an EPIC dance party so I may have posted a few more than normal. Sorry…not sorry.
Happy Monday!
