Oh dear. If you follow the blog very often, you will know that I am an incredibly sentimental person and I LOVE the outdoors. Those two things are very central to who I am and so this wedding was an absolute blast to shoot. Hope and Hunter were married at Hunter’s family ranch in Schwertner, TX, just outside of Austin, and every part of the day was special. The venue was unreal, my favorite type of venue, and the day was marked with sentimentality…both of what has been and what was to come. The backdrop was nothing but the open expanse of green Texas fields, a large Texas sky, the peace and quiet of Texas countryside and the laughter of loving Texans. What made the day even more beautiful, though, was that the two main players of this Texas story were a couple madly in love and ready to celebrate their union in marriage. Hope and Hunter are truly caring, thoughtful and welcoming people. I have been so blessed to get to know them through this wedding process and feel privileged to have documented their love story up to this point. Both of their families were equally as wonderful and made me feel entirely at home.
Hope and Hunter, thank you for letting me be a small part of your beautiful day. As I look through these images, I am yet again reminded that I am one lucky girl who gets to work with wonderful people. Wishing you two the best as you enter in to a new season of life!
Hope may just be more sentimental than yours truly and so every detail had been thought through and carefully selected to represent something from their families, their past and their future. I was so impressed with the way she thought through it all that I had her make a list of things that were special so as to give other brides ideas for how to incorporate family history in to their wedding day. They are listed at the end of the post so make sure to check it out!
Happy Monday!
The wedding took place at Hunter’s family ranch, Schwertner Ranch and Event Center, where he had spent much of his childhood. It was beautiful!
The top button on Hope’s dress was from Hunter’s grandmother’s wedding dress. How sweet is that?!
Hope’s pearls belonged to her grandmother and she received them for her 30th wedding anniversary. It was her desire that all of the grand-children and great-grandchildren wear them on their wedding day. Again, how perfect?!
The wheat in Hope’s bouquet is from her great-grandmother’s field in Louisiana. What a thoughtful touch!
Hope’s little sister made this picture for her sister and new brother-in-law when they got engaged.
Hunter, you have a great sense of humor.
Perfect.
Putting on her grandmother’s pearls…
Number one reason why I LOVE first looks!
To say I was giddy with this setting is an understatement.
You two are too much.
Favorite.
This china belonged to Hope’s step-mother’s mom.
The suitcase belonged to Hunter’s grandmother and she took it with her when she went to the University of Texas as a freshman.
Oh how I love a tent reception.
