Happy Thanksgiving | Giving Thanks

If you have followed this blog for a decent amount of time, you have heard me rave about my family. Unashamedly so. We are imperfect but we are wonderful in our imperfection. At least from my point of view. As I get older, the holidays creep up on me so unexpectedly but once I step foot into my grandparent’s home, I am at rest and wouldn’t want to be any other place.

This morning, like every morning at my grandparent’s home, we started off with cinnamon rolls, homemade hot chocolate and endless pajama conversation. You may remember my post about it here.  This morning, however, was a little bit different. It was different because instead of another peaceful and blessed morning with my family, I actually stepped back and was thankful for my many blessings.

We will sit around the dinner table and fill our stomaches with way too much food. We will throw our heads back in endless laughter. We will share stories we have told a thousand times. We will share them as if they had never been told before. And we will go around and say what we are thankful for. Today, I am overwhelming thankful for my family, my friends and the blessings of my life. Most of all though, I am thankful for my God who is always good and whose mercies endure forever.

Psalm 107:1- ‘Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. For His mercy endures forever.’

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
