Behind the Lens | Life in Texas

A year and a half ago, I packed my bags and headed south…to the state of Texas. It was not on my radar, I never really wanted to live there but yet, ‘there’ I found myself. God has a sense of humor…one that I don’t always understand. Maybe it’s because I grew up in the Great State of Oklahoma and so it was pretty well engrained in me that the state beneath us was well…beneath us. Pun intended. Of course we knew it was a joke and just playful but nonetheless, Texas was not my first choice. However, a year and a half later, I am happy to say that I’m happy. I was editing some pictures of a bridal session I did a couple of weeks ago on THE coolest ranch (can’t wait to show those post wedding) and noticed that my images had a somewhat ‘Texas’ theme. I kind of chuckled to myself as I realized that I had unknowingly embraced the cacti/boots/horses of Texas and then it dawned on me. I’m really content. The Lord’s plan is FAR better than my own and because of that, I am at rest.

Here’s to the Lord’s plans above our own and to life in Texas…even though it is still technically beneath us. Hardy Har Har.

I have a hunch as to just which ranch you were on and who your lovely bride was. *wink wink* Can’t wait to see you in a few weeks, friend!
