Behind the Lens | Florida Friday: A Much Needed Vacay

As I sit here writing this, my nephew’s precious coos are coming from the next room, the Florida sun is shining and I have just spent the morning with a cup of coffee, my Bible and a hammock. It’s not even noon and it’s been a great day. Yep, Internet, I am on vacation. With as much as I travel for my job, I can be deceived into thinking that I take vacations but really…I can’t remember the last time I went some place solely to RELAX!!! Often times I can make a mini vacation out of business but rarely do I just get to BE STILL. If you know me personally or have kept up with the blog for a decent amount of time, you know that me and resting don’t really go together easily. My schedule is constantly full and I love being busy…to a fault.

However, after an incredibly fully spring/early summer, I needed a break. My body has not-so-gently been communicating this on a daily basis through aches, bruises and overall fatigue! So, with my cousin getting married this weekend in Miami, I intentionally blocked this weekend off months ago so that I could simply enjoy a week OFF! Yesterday, I spent the day with my family at Disneyworld and successfully didn’t think about work once. THAT is an accomplishment, my friends. Today, I will be working a tad bit for some upcoming weddings but then I’m off to Miami for a Saturday where I am the guest at a wedding. What to even do with myself?!?! I just might have to Wobble…without my camera. Gasp. From there my family is having a reunion in the Florida Keys…yes, please!

It’s back to wedding season next Saturday but until then, you can find me on the beach with a book and some shades!

Happy ‘Florida’ Friday!
