Amanda + Jonathan | A Stillwater, OK Engagement Session

They were friends first. As she says, ‘Our relationship grew from friendship.‘ They say that you marry your best friend and with these two, well, it is so clear that this is true. They met through their core group at church and his brother picked up on her affection for him before he did. ‘She totally likes you dude, just watch how she acts around you.‘ Well, he watched, he noticed and he responded.

They dated for a year and on their anniversary (his birthday), they exchanged gifts and then with her in tears, he knelt to one knee and asked her to be forever his. They love to make each other laugh which was so evident during their engagement session, making for one fun evening! In her words, ‘Jonathan makes me a better person by challenging me in my walk with God. He pulls out the best qualities in me and God knew exactly what kind of man I needed. He is exactly who I need.’ Jonathan said nothing short of that same sentiment, ‘She challenges me to grow and makes me comfortable in being myself. God is the center of our relationship and I’m so blessed to share my life with Amanda.’ Next July, these two lovebirds and best friends will exchange vows before friends and family, forever committing to be ‘His and Hers.’

I actually grew up in the same hometown as these two! They are a few years younger than me but I went to school with both of their older siblings and so when Amanda contacted me about possibly doing their wedding in my hometown next summer, I was pumped! I love that my job consistently brings me back in touch with people from all walks of life. Amanda and Jonathan are some of the sweetest people, not only treating one another with genuine love and care but also those around them. They were so wonderful to work with, making me feel so comfortable and welcomed, and I can’t wait to share in their journey!
Enjoy some of my favorites from their Stillwater, OK engagement session!
Happy Monday!

When Jonathan proposed, he gave Amanda these ‘His and Hers’ t-shirts with a drawing on the back of the two of them. The drawing was actually from a gift he gave her on their one month anniversary. Is that cute or what?!?

They climbed a tree. And it was awesome.

One of my favs. This road was PERFECT.

LOVE this one.

This dip was totally on their own…and I was super impressed.

How often do you just happen to stumble upon an apple tree??!? Perfection.
