A Slate at II Creeks Wedding | Lori + Blake

They met in the 9th grade but it wasn’t until the 10th grade that they really got to know each other. They were coincidentally placed in the same choir class and started to hit it off. That makes it 1o years since these two met and began their journey together! In both of their words, they know each other well! In that 10th grade choir class, she noticed his smile and how wonderfully goofy he was, a trait that she continues to value as she never is wanting for a laugh. He too noticed her smile, falling for the way she sang and her sense of humor. Friendship turned into high school romance, leading into long distance as they attended separate colleges. Distance had its challenges but as she said, ‘we just couldn’t stay away.’ He balances her out and pushes her out of her comfort zone, reminding her to be proud of who she is. She balances him out too, knowing him so well that she can give him advice on what is right for him to do even before he can realize it. They have grown up together, walked many miles by each other’s side and thus, provide each other with easy comfort. They are each other’s best friends and most certainly, each other’s true love.

He proposed one night while taking her to Reunion Tower in Dallas. She could tell that something was up and was hopeful that he would propose. When he didn’t propose at dinner, she was little sad but little did she know the night wasn’t over. He surprised her with a beautiful walk through Dallas’ Fountain Plaza downtown and it was there that he asked her to be his bride. Her yes was easy as she was so excited to spend her days with this man.

Their wedding day was one of great joy as they stood before friends and family and committed the rest of their lives to one another. Blake kept everyone laughing and Lori was beautifully beaming from ear to ear. It was a very hot August day but the heat didn’t matter because it was a day focused on two people in love, looking forward to their future together. Vows were said, toasts were given, the dance floor was full and everyone was joyful as they sent these two lovebirds off to honeymoon and start the rest of their lives.

Lori and Blake, thanks for choosing me to capture such a special day in your lives. I still remember sitting with you at Starbucks this time last year and hearing about your love story! So fun to have walked with you until now as you have said ‘I Do’ and begun a new chapter. Wishing you all the best in the days ahead!
